Director Biography – Jonathan King

A native of suburban Chicago’s Wheaton, Illinois, Jonathan King developed a strong interest in film at a young age before venturing into writing story-driven feature length screenplays ranging across a wide variety of topics and genres as well as writing/directing short films in the drama and comedy realm beginning at the age of 17.

A graduate of BFA in Film and Television production from DePaul University in Chicago, many of his films have featured the cityscape as a backdrop for stories centered around the drama of dealing with dysfunctional relationships or comedies poking fun at out-of-touch wannabe college aged aristocrats. The latter was featured in his short film “Cathedral of Evil”, which placed in various film festivals worldwide as a short film including the Bristol Independent Film Festival as well as a short screenplay in the Austin Film Festival.

Jonathan now serves as an independent writer, director and editor in Los Angeles. He hopes to continue to make short films as well as create story-driven feature length films about college, the internet, relationships, and other topics that are more underdiscussed on a cinematic level.
