A polling location goes under lockdown during a tense presidential election, forever changing the lives of a group of strangers as they inevitably do what most do not recommend…talk politics.

Director Biography – Tyler Mann

Tyler Mann’s interest in film sparked at a very young age when his dad would take him to see all the new movies that were released in theaters each weekend. Later, he would be inspired by his sister as she pursued her film degree. He went on to get his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in film from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he made a high-concept, futuristic, sci-fi short film called LIFECELL that would go on to play at many film festivals worldwide and win several awards in a wide variety of categories. While I VOTED is his feature film directorial debut, he has also produced a feature film, CRITIC, that is currently in the festival circuit as well. He frequently edits feature films as well such as A LION’S GAME and ANGEL. Tyler in interested in stories that have great substance while are also easily accessible and can reach the greatest amount of people possible.

Director Statement

I VOTED is a brave film that dares to defy convention by telling a story that is directly about politics and the division in today’s America while presenting it from the character’s authentic point of view and shows how politics affects everyone’s lives. The film is very PRO-DEMOCRACY and hopes to encourage and motivate people to the polls this November to make their voices heard.

From abortion, immigration, LGBTQIA+ rights, guns, socialism, capitalism, healthcare and religion; I VOTED covers the gambit in terms of political hot topics we’re told not to talk about around the dinner table. Everyone who watches this movie will be able to identify with at least one of the characters who is stuck in this polling location.

Essentially, the film serves as a litmus test for where each person who watches can see where they are on the political spectrum.
