Director Statement

This project was a vehicle as the pandemic slowed down to get me back in production after the death of my long-time creative partner and Director of Photography, Larry McKee passed away from COVID. For many years we were Vernon-McKee.

‘Men in Cars’ was a quirky exercise in storytelling and collaboration between my professional filmmaker colleagues and my theatre arts students at College of the Mainland. It was a fun and necessary creative project in which I came to believe the journey of filmmaking is still a wonder and joy to participate in. Even with new directors of photography the work is worth it and I will always and forever be Vernon-McKee at heart.
