The Time Capsule

The Time Capsule

Four childhood friends reunite to dig up a time capsule after 30 years… and encounter some unexpected visitors.

Director Biography – Michael Charron

Michael sees the movie theater as a place where traditions are subverted–where the status quo gets turned on its head. And this is where his writing sensibilities lie–in taking an established concept or idea and finding a way to turn it into something different. From slasher films where the “sexy” girls are the most competent ones to a rom-com where the meet cute takes place during casting for a snuff film, there’s no trope he’s unwilling to push to its limit.

Michael’s written more than a dozen feature films (and produced four of them) as well as written and produced a series of successful shorts. Michael has had several feature scripts both place as finalists and win in festivals and has had multiple short films win awards in recent years, including several that took top honors.

Director Statement

Comedy is my love but I’m always looking to push it in different directions and find fun other things to incorporate into it.

For my last film we made an action comedy, the one before combined drama and horror with comedy that made something funny, but also kinda sweet. I love both those films. But I missed the big laughs of previous films.

I really wanted to make something non stop funny this time, something that escalates and gets funnier and weirder as it goes on. And also something really short… get in and be funny, and get back out leaving them wanting more. That’s the birth of The Time Capsule.

I brought together some of my favorite collaborators and we put together this project with tons of laughs. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it!
