The Virtual Hunt
“The Virtual Hunt” is a suspenseful short film centered on a filmmaker who narrates a story about three friends who investigate a murder in one of their apartments over a video call. They collaborate to uncover the killer’s identity and motives thereby revealing hidden secrets while racing against time to ensure their safety.
My friend Kamalesh and I go way back – we’re college buddies from the vibrant city of Chennai, united by our shared passion for films.
Fast forward to 2018, Kamalesh had moved to the US while I took up a full-time IT job in Bengaluru.
But distance couldn’t dim our creative spark. Two years ago, despite living in different time zones, we embarked on an ambitious project – we wrote the story and penned the screenplay for “The Virtual Hunt.”
We didn’t stop at writing, though. We directed and produced the film and also acted in it.
We shot the entire film in just four intense days in Chennai.
As for me, I love video editing too So I took over the editing and visual effects work of the project.
But here’s the twist – with our full-time jobs and the time zone difference, Kamalesh and I had to sync up after long 8-9 hour workdays, week after week, to bring “The Virtual Hunt” to life.
That post-production journey took us on a marathon that spanned almost 10 months. But it was all worth it. This is a project that’s very close to our hearts, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
So Get ready to immerse yourselves in “The Virtual Hunt,” our project which proves that distance and time zones are no match for the power of creativity and collaboration. Enjoy the film!
