Well This Sucks!

Well This Sucks!

When Mark opens the door expecting a fun-filled board game night with his friend Amy, he instead finds himself face-to-face with a pale, awkward stranger. Convinced the uninvited guest is a vampire, Mark frantically tries to expose him, while the ever-trusting and slightly oblivious Amy takes the stranger at his word. As suspicions mount and denials grow increasingly absurd, the evening spirals into chaos, blurring the line between paranoia and playtime in a hilariously unexpected way.

Director Statement

I made “Well This Sucks!” as a playful exploration of what happens when someone is way too trusting of a complete stranger. I grew up watching sketch comedy on YouTube, and they were always quick, absurd, character-driven narratives that could turn any situation upside down in minutes. That energy inspired the tone of this film. Over the summer, I kept seeing these funny takes on vampires in pop culture and thought, “Why not start there?” This short is my first time directing, and I wanted it to be fun, fast, and just a little unhinged. If it makes people laugh and say the title out loud by the end, then I’ve done my job.
