Nobody is as crazy as Andy Dick. He’s always in trouble. Millions of people love him, the press hates him, and everybody else is not sure what to make of him. This documentary shows how brilliantly funny he is, and shows his humanity. He lives life exactly how he wants to live it. Is he an idiot? Or is he a crazy genius with a huge heart. You decide. Brand new style of documentary. Will make you feel young and alive again.
I think that it is important to celebrate people while they are living. I also believe that it is important to share the humanity that exists in outrageous, controversial artists. If we don’t allow artists to live with abandon, we will cease to have art.
I would like to start by saying that there are many
People who are struggling with addiction. They are
somebody’s brother, sister, mother, father, child.
The thing that touches my heart the most about this documentary, are the comments from people who struggle with addiction. I was honestly floored the first time that I heard this question.
“Did you intend to take the shame out of addiction when you made this movie? Is that why you made it? Because it’s the first time in my life that I haven’t felt ashamed of myself. Thank you for showing us as humans.”
I made this movie because I love Andy. But I’m grateful to know that it is having this effect on people who deserve our compassion.
I believe in celebrating people while they are alive an can participate in stories that are being told about them.
I am a first time, female filmmaker, first time director, long time lover of outrageous artists who aren’t afraid to live outloud.
This is first in a SERIES of a new style of documentary that shows the genius and humanity of artists whose full character has not always been accurately portrayed in the press.
I was never at a shortage of people who were excited to talk about their exciting encounter with this living legend.
I interviewed
hundreds of people from celebrities like Ben Stiller, Nick Swardson, Steve O from Jackass, and Kathy Griffin, to doctors, psychiatrists, bartenders and bouncers to give a deep look into the life of this comedic genius.
His fans love him, and his co-stars are enthralled with his genius, but have no idea what he will do next!
The world without Andy Dick and people like Andy Dick would suck. If we can laugh and love one another, we’ve got a shot at something great while we rotate around the sun together.

Andy had no idea that I was making this documentary. All of the talent agreed to help keep the secret for 5 years. One day I invited him to watch a movie that I had made and asked him to help me and give me notes on it, and possibly let me film him to be in it. He showed up and I put the cameras on him and let the cat out of the bag. For me, his reactions are the best part of this documentary. For having such a controversial reputation, one hell of a lot of people love him so much that they were thrilled to help me and to be a part of this. This man is a genius, a legend, and a nutjob. And I love him…
