Taylor Conley is a writer and director living in the Atlanta area. A SCAD Atlanta graduate, she has honed her craft making challenging, unique, character-driven pieces including In Defense of the Gorgon Medusa and He Was Hope.
I find this film exhausting. I find it exhausting because I find racism exhausting, because one of the main purposes of racism is to exhaust. My goal for this piece is not to change anyone’s mind about anything. My goal is to make the audience feel, just for a moment, the blunt-force trauma of not knowing the right way to respond to the reminder of your humanity being conditional.
