A sharp-tongued mother is tempted by old habits after a stint in prison, but her path to salvation is shackled by the bonds of family.
Alexander Zorn is a queer Director based in Chicago, IL. He is attending DePaul University for a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema. He is known for Precious Things (2018), which he co-wrote with his frequent working partner and husband Jacob Zorn.
When I set out to make Precious Things my goal was to memorialize the life and struggles of my late mother-in-law Kathy. My husband Jacob wrote the first draft of Precious Things as a form of therapy — and I fell in love after the first read. I dug through hundreds of old family photos and read through twenty-year-old pregnancy diaries to understand her side of the story. What I discovered was a complex woman with a heartbreaking story that I couldn’t resist telling.
