The Mayberry Effect
The Mayberry Effect is a humorous and inspiring film exploring how The Andy Griffith Show has influenced individuals and audiences over many generations. This film follows David Browning, the nation’s number one Barney Fife tribute artist, Allan Newsome, the Floyd The Barber tribute artist, and many other tribute artists as they entertain crowds all over the nation at various Mayberry festivals helping new and old Andy Griffith Show audiences laugh and stay connected to one of America’s favorite television sitcoms of all time.
Emmy Nominated and Silver Telly Award winning television Producer/Director, Chris Hudson has worked in television for over 20 years. Holding a BA in Communications from Queens College (now Queens University of Charlotte) and an MFA in Documentary Film from Wake Forest University, Hudson started his career at WTVI, Charlotte’s PBS station, working on numerous TV shows and local documentaries. Producing, directing, and editing the Emmy nominated and Silver Telly Award winning film How I Survived WWII, lead to another spin-off documentary called If They Could See Us Now: The Story of Charlotte’s 38th Evacuation Hospital.
Hudson also worked for almost 9 years as a producer and editor at Time Warner Cable Media Sales in both Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina offices producing local, regional, and national TV commercials.
In 2013, Hudson left Time Warner Cable Media Sales and started his own production company, Chris Hudson Productions, producing television commercials and documentaries for regional clients.
From 2015 – 2018 Hudson earned his Masters in Fine Arts in Documentary Film at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and continues to produce, direct, and edit documentaries and commercials in addition to helping his wife run and operate Creative Drama Children’s Theater in Clemmons, NC where the two reside with their two daughters, Selah and Sadie Hudson.
