Barbarella Fokos is an award winning writer and filmmaker. She is co-founder of Salt and Sugar Productions, though which she has produced and directed 9 short and two feature length documentaries, many of which were critically acclaimed. Barbarella produced and co-directed Art Pulse TV (a 20-episode television program that received 4 Emmy nominations and earned one Emmy Award). She has produced and hosted segments for NBC San Diego and California NonStop, and has been a regular guest on NBC San Diego, KUSI, FOX6, and KPBS. Prior to filmmaking, Barbarella was a writer and journalist, receiving many first place awards for both in-depth feature and humor writing. Her column, Diary of a Diva, appeared in the San Diego Reader for 12 years, and her book, Diary of a Diva: Behind the Lipstick, was released in 2014.
