Director Statement

One of the last stories that the great American writer Raymond Carver left us was Whoever Was Using This Bed.

When I first read it, I was deeply moved by its intimacy, humor and sadness – its inescapable truth. The seemingly ordinary dialogue between a man and a woman is endowed with Carver’s unique and compassionate perspective on the human condition.

It is a story about our darkest fears – a story for us all. I felt compelled to make it into a short film.
